Year 4 PE Scheme of Work

In Year 4, pupils engage with a more demanding and varied physical education curriculum. They develop competitive game skills in invasion and net games, perform more complex gymnastic and dance compositions, compete in athletics events and navigate outdoor environments. The ability to observe, analyse and improve performance becomes a central expectation.

Pupils learn to work with greater tactical awareness, understanding how to adapt their play to create or deny space and scoring opportunities. They begin to take responsibility for officiating simple aspects of games and leading parts of warm-up activities.
