What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They are commonly used to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, or track your behaviour across the web.
What cookies does Staffroom use?
We only use essential cookies — the minimum necessary to make the service work. These are set by Clerk, our authentication provider, and are required to keep you signed in during your session.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| __session | Clerk | Keeps you signed in to your account | Session |
| __client_uat | Clerk | Tracks when your session was last updated | Session |
These cookies are strictly necessary to provide the service. You cannot opt out of them while using Staffroom, as they are required for authentication to function.
What we do not use
We do not use:
- Advertising or marketing cookies
- Third-party tracking cookies
- Analytics cookies that track you across other websites
- Cookies from social media platforms
Analytics
We use Umami Analytics to understand how the product is used. Umami is cookieless — it does not set any cookies and does not track you across sessions or other websites. All analytics data is aggregated and anonymised.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you delete the Clerk session cookies, you will be signed out of Staffroom. Instructions for managing cookies vary by browser:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Changes to this policy
If we ever introduce new cookies, we will update this page and notify you in advance. We will always ask for your consent before placing any non-essential cookies.
